Fall of 2010: I was with amazing colleagues of mine and we were dreaming… the question that day was “If you were to write a book what you title it?” Out of absolutely no where (or so I thought) I said “What Size Was Eve? Because God never mentioned what size she was or how she looked. Its what she did that we talk about.” Immediately, my friend Vasti hit my arm (per usual) and raved about how cool that name was, she kinda made it a big deal and so I stood up, straightened my shoulders and said ” YEAH IT IS COOL!” I went home journaled about it and left it there.

Spring of 2013: After hearing from several people about my need to blog I took it into consideration. Finally I met with a friend who shared how going public would help with accountability and help others in their weight loss journeys. I went home and thought “How does someone even start a blog?” And my answer was “A name is good start” and that’s when What Size Was Eve was born!

Winter of 2016: A public weight loss blog without weight loss became too much to carry emotionally. The weight I carried emotionally outweighed the physical and so I decided it was time to take a step back.

Fall of 2018: After almost two years of being out of the blog-o-sphere I believe the Lord is calling me back. This time it looks different. There has been a lot of self reflection, forgiving and growing. I’m not a physical size 8 however, my heart has been freed of the extra weight.  I’m here to share more about my journey, my thoughts about weight loss and the emotional healing that can come when we allow ourselves to go to vulnerable places where God is waiting to meet with us. HE is so good!

What Size Was Eve is a place where we are safe to discuss the truth about weight loss. It’s not all about food and exercise, although both have their role in weight loss. But its about being healthy emotionally and spiritually. It’s about responding to our life call despite what we’ve done or where we’ve been. Eve was a woman who kinda sorta messed up. Ok, she messed up….BUT GOD called her to be the FIRST mother, wife and woman ever! THATS A PRETTY BIG DEAL! We don’t know what size she was but we know she was special enough to be called… I want this to be a place where we can confront the hard things so that we can move on to what God has called us to!

Thanks for being here…I hope you’re ready for all that God has in store.
